Today, from midnight to midnight, TLU invites you to partake in a 24-hour whirlwind of generosity, spirit, and Bulldog pride. This year, our Day of Giving is not just an event but also a celebration of luck, unity, and the spirit of our community, inspired by our very own Lucky the Bulldog. We're not just hoping for luck; we're creating it, one gift at a time. Your participation goes beyond just giving. It's a testament to the power of community and the collective effort to enhance the student experience and campus needs at TLU. With a goal to reach 400 gifts in 24 hours, every contribution, big or small, paves the way for a brighter future for our students and TLU as a whole.

Why are donations necessary?

The Simulation Stethoscopes project introduces groundbreaking technology that revolutionizes medical education by providing students with immersive, hands-on experiences. With these simulation stethoscopes, students can engage with patient actors and encounter a diverse range of medical conditions, from normal to abnormal findings such as murmurs, crackles, and wheezes. This innovative approach allows students to actively participate in scenarios, interacting with patients to develop diagnostic skills and treatment plans.

Utilizing SimScope® stethoscopes, students can auscultate Standardized Patients and manikins by placing RFID tag sensors on corresponding anatomical locations. These stethoscopes are also compatible with Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) training, enabling educators to customize scenarios and provide realistic simulation experiences. The SimScope® enhances flexibility and efficiency in simulation training, with embedded wireless technology enabling instant communication with a controller tablet. Instructors can dynamically adjust scenario parameters, facilitating real-time interventions and ensuring an immersive learning experience.

Your support for the Simulation Stethoscopes project will empower TLU's Nursing students to develop essential diagnostic skills, enhancing their readiness to deliver high-quality patient care in diverse healthcare settings.
