Personal Message

“Generations of biologists, medical professionals, and other scientists have used microscopes to learn about the unseen world of cells and of very small organisms. We are continuing that tradition by using microscopes in our labs. But we need an adequate number of microscopes so that every student learns the skill of using them. We believe that there is a vital need to train the scientist of the future in the use of the microscope.” Dr. Alan Lievens, Professor of Biology

With the support of loyal donors like you, the biology department will be able to purchase 5 new and improved microscopes for our students. A great deal of their knowledge of biology and medical practice relies on microscopic studies. Almost all our students, regardless of their major, take a biology course. Therefore, we need to provide the best equipment available. Thank you!

Once we reach 10 donors, Board of Regent Nancy May will contribute $750 to this project! Thank you Nancy.
